Our Dogs
River is the real deal. Raised on a large ranch in Canada, she has spent her life with the sheep, goats and chickens that she guards. River takes her job seriously and exudes confidence. She is strong-willed, courageous, an excellent guardian and mother. River doesn’t bark much and she doesn’t bark in vain. Her calm, assertive personality makes her the dominate dog of our homestead. River is OFA Hip and Elbow tested, has had genetic testing done through Embark and is registered with the Maremma Sheepdog Club of America.
Strong, young, with an outgoing and stable disposition, Tundra is an ideal stud. While he is friendly and gentle enough to be trusted with children, he knows how to fulfill his role as a guardian against predation. Tundra was raised with sheep and currently watches over our goats and chickens. He is registered with the Maremma Sheepdog Club of America and is available for stud services.
At 6 months old, Melania already weighs 65 pounds and still has a lot of growing to do! She is the result of the thoughtful pairing of River with an imported Italian stud. Under River’s training we anticipate Melania blossoming into an excellent livestock guardian dog. Melania has a sweet, affectionate temperament and is being socialized to children, frequent guests, cats, goats and chickens. She is registered with the Maremma Sheepdog Club of America.
